Hyperlinks in Mail

From: John
Date: January 2003

How can I add a hyperlink in Mail? I use Outlook at work and all I need to do is start typing "www.whatever.com" and Bang! there it is. But in Mail, nothing. I tried changing from Rich Text to Plain: nothing. I've tried everthing I can think of. Do you have any suggestions?

I can't make it appear, either--at least, not in Mail. However, as soon as you send the email to people, the link does appear "live" in their copies of the receipt message. It just doesn't appear when you're composing it.
