 From David's Desk
Missing from Missing Manual

From: Michael Hoffman
Date: November 2002

David,

I have been an avid reader of your informative and entertaining Mac articles and books for many years. However, I must cry foul on your missing chapter on iPhoto in your Mac OS X 2nd Edition. The subtitle should have read: "The book that should have been in the book." There's not even a passing mention of how to use iPhoto with OS X 10.2. So if we want the Missing Manual on iPhoto, we are asked to buy yet another of your books. What a scam!

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to vent on this issue,
Michael

Interesting point! Of course, iMovie and AppleWorks also come free with most Macs, and there are also Missing Manuals on these topics. Are you suggesting that we wrap them all up into one gigantic 3,000-page book?

I'm not sure the buying public would go for it. :)

Meanwhile, we do publish the table of contents and index of every book at www.missingmanuals.com, so I'm not sure the omission of iPhoto coverage qualifies as a "scam."

David
