 From David's Desk
External and Internal IP Addresses

From: Doug
Date: August 2002

I am using a Linksys router with DHCP on my DSL network. Each of my computers is given an internal IP address of 192.168.1.1**. My Windows computer can tell me its external IP address, but my Mac cannot. Is there an application for Mac OS X that tells me my external IP address?

Thanks,
Doug

Doug,

Just open System Preferences and then click the Network icon. Your IP address is clearly displayed there.

Hope this helps,
David
