I was wondering if you could help me with a problem that I'm having with my second eMac. I took the first one back to the store and exchanged it for another one. Now I have the same, exact problem.
The problem is the font, numbers, and pictures on my screen are all blurry. When I try to read my email, I can barely see the letters because they are so faded. Do you know what is going on with the eMac?
The screen on this brand new one is exactly the same as the one I just returned to the store. Apple said I had to bring it in to be fixed, so I told them I just wanted a new one. Now this one has the same problem. Please help.
Sincerely,
Ingrid
Hi Ingrid,
This is a standard "feature" of Mac OS X, designed to make type look more like the smooth-edged type in a magazine.
You can tone it down in the General panel of System Preferences. You can even turn it off entirely, using a trick that's described in Mac OS X: The Missing Manual, 2nd Edition.
Good luck!
David
